Information on Searching By Reference, please read this first:

• Select the Year
• Select the Region
• Select the Type: Birth, Marriage or Death
• Enter the reference
• Submit the search

The search will seek out all entries that have the reference number specified, for the year specified and the region selected and also attempt to display all the others on the same register page.

If the registers have been indexed by page number, then multiple entries with the same reference number will be returned.

Births and Deaths have 5 entries per register page. If the search returns more than 5 it usually implies that one or more of the entries is an also known as entry.

The search will include the years on either side of the one selected to account for the year change within a page.
